NewCareer ExplorationFlyers Summer Programming 2026This Career Exploration program, facilitated by the Career Development team at FHS, is a 4-week immersive experience designed to give students a deep dive into four high-growth industries. To ensure a comprehensive experience, students will operate on a weekly rotation model, spending one full week dedicated to each career track. This structure allows for a "Monday-to-Friday" progression from basic theory to a significant capstone project. Week 1: Health Careers - Students will explore life saving techniques, including CPR and First Aid, complete clinical phlebotomy simulations and learn to read vital signs and triage patient cases. They will put their skills to the test at the end of the week with a "Code Blue" simulation requiring them to apply their clinical knowledge to save a patient.Week 2: Cosmetology - Students will learn about the aesthetic sciences, learning braiding, styling, manicures and nail art techniques, and skin health basics. Their capstone will include a site visit to a professional Cosmetology school for a "day in the life" tour.Week 3: Skilled Trades - Students will gain exposure to automotive and electrical systems, including engine anatomy, preventative maintenance, wiring circuits, introduction to HVAC and plumbing. The final project will include building a model structure.Week 4: Business and Entrepreneurship - Students will learn how to turn creative ideas into scalable, market-ready brands. They will identify market gaps, brainstorm solutions, develop a social media campaign and commercial, and learn public speaking and negotiation skills. Their final project will include a real life "shark tank" presentation in front of local industry judges.Flyers Summer Program 2026 -
