It moves beyond traditional education, emphasizing the development of critical skills, collaboration, and adaptability.

The 21st Century program is funded by the U.S. Department of Education and administered through state education agencies. 

Schools and community organizations in low-income areas can apply for grants to create or expand after school programs. 

The goal is to close achievement gaps by providing students with additional learning time and resources that they may not have access to outside of school.
